When attempting to start a new Vbill, you receive the error 'Invalid NAC Number'.
This error can be caused by several things:
- Ensure that you are entering the NAC number in the correct format. A NAC number is a 'C' or 'D' followed by 8 digits, e.g. D12345678. If there is a 'dash' (-) as in the example above, please remove it and try again.
- The NAC number is not on file yet with CPCS. Sometimes there is a lag between when the NAC number is given to the attorney and when it is entered into the CPCS database. If the attorney assignment is fairly new, this is often the case. Wait a few days and then try entering it again.
- The attorney has mistakenly given you an incorrect NAC number. If the attorney has previously successfully billed on the NAC number, then please reconfirm the number with them. It should be a 'C' or 'D' followed by 8 digits.
